On behalf of my wife and I, would you please thank everyone connected with the wonderful organisation skills that produced the once in a lifetime awesome spectacle of the Tour de France. The village informative web site for the event was excellent, a credit to the compiler. I know these events are hard work with little appreciative rewards, so we hope to partially put this right by saying a big thank you.

Thank you all for a wonderful experience yesterday. The day the Tour de France came to Finchingfield. The hospitality shown to us was outstanding, we were welcomed with open arms. You did Finchingfield proud all of you who must have laboured for months and months to get it done. Well done and thanks again.

Just thought I'd drop you a line to say 'thank you' to the Parish Council for all their hard work in organising the Tour de France through Finchingfield on Monday. I and my family had an amazing day and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a wonderful atmosphere and what fabulous weather! I don't think I remember seeing that many people in the village before, not even when I was little and the Fair was quite a big thing. Any way, well done and thank you very much.

Congratulations to Finchingfield on making the Race a special day, the organisation was very good and the screen, the shops, Fox marquee, then Bosworths for tea at the end of the day made everything perfect.

The Independent

said "the sight of the riders snaking through a tiered thicket of fans packed on to the village green with the duck pond in the foreground was the image of the day".

Dear Finchingfield, I send my congratulations to all your residents, helpers and Tour Makers for putting on a fabulous day for myself, wife and daughter today in your beautiful village. The web site information was perfect and made our short journey from Ipswich very easy. We had a nice greeting at the north, Spain's Hall, car park. The toilet facilities were perfect and handy. Stalls and services were perfect. Everyone was friendly and we all had a super time watching the Tour de France caravan and riders come through. Thank you all very much.

Good morning, I just wanted to leave my feedback and appreciation for the efforts you put in organising the Tour de France event on Monday. I travelled down on my motorbike to watch from North Norfolk early on Monday morning having visited the parish council website the night before for the details of parking etc... The car park was clearly signed and the ladies collecting payment were very friendly and helpful. It was a great day and a pleasure to have shared it with the rest of the crowds who arrived for the day. It was the first time I had visited the village and I will definitely be back, maybe when its a little quieter next time. Thanks again.

I just wanted to say well done for the organisation of the passing of the Tour de France yesterday. We were really impressed by the facilities and general organisation of the day, your website in particular was clear and full of exactly the kind of information people needed to enjoy the day.
